Steven Hoekstra

Steven Hoekstra is a professor of experimental quantum physics at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. His specialty is the cooling and trapping of atoms, molecules, and nanoparticles. Together with his team he pushes the precision and the sensitivity of tabletop experiments on well-chosen quantum systems, with the aim of testing the symmetries and interactions between fundamental particles. He leads the research team of the NL-eEDM experiment, which is a research program of the National Institute for Subatomic Physics (Nikhef) in the Netherlands.
